It just keeps getting better. Unemployed, ! -at- #%$ near broke, buried under a mountain of bills, having trouble finding a job, I come to this list to ask for some pointers about the current state of a job market which is unfamiliar to me, and this is what I get?

Who appointed you this board's legal speech proctor?

If you think I'm up to no good, sue me. Haul me into court, present convincing evidence that I am actually trying to convince other people to collude in illegally restricting competition instead of just asking for advice, get a judgment against me, and you can have every penny I got. Lucky you. If the court seizes everything I own and auctions it off, including the 14-year old truck with more than 320,000 miles on the odometer that I can't afford to replace, after the court deducts their costs in peforming the seizure and auction, you might get $14.78. Buy some champagne and celebrate your victory.

Have people in this country actually gotten so lawsuit-crazy that JUST ASKING FOR INFORMATION is now construed as evidence of criminal conspiracy?

To all:

Please be aware that, in the U.S., discussion of specific contracted pay rates and services within an industry group may be construed as price-fixing and therefore illegal under the Sherman Antitrust Act and/or the Clayton Act.

What is generally seen as OK? References to third-party compensation reporting surveys, websites, etc., and discussions of general fee ranges and methods of charging for services that do not invoke specific client arrangements.
