I would call Adobe and talk to them. They may have a workaround or they may tell you that you have to pay but either way you will have an answer and not waste time trying to figure out your own workaround.
In theory an excellent suggestion. But in my experience, dealing with the first level of Adobe "support/help" is nothing but a sure way to increase one's blood pressure by a lot of points. One waits forever, ends up with a barely intelligible person who keeps to their script no matter what the caller is trying to explain, and then you get disconnected and have to call again. But sometimes that's a good thing because the next person's answer is often totally different, and perhaps more desirable.
So by querying this list, I was explicitly hoping to avoid the h-e-double-matchsticks that is the Adobe "customer service" phone maze, and leverage someone else's hard-fought retrieval of Adobe's ever-changing policies.
