Hi Stephanie,

You already have something that's really good on your CV. Most tech writers
come from either technical or language backgrounds. With your psychology
degree, you have an edge.
Also, network security is a growing industry, so you have valuable
specialist knowledge.

If I were you, I wouldn't go for a certification. Rather, rework what you
already have to fit your audience - and then add some hands-on experience.

One of the best introductions on tech writing I've seen is this:

"Technical Writing 101: A Real-World Guide to Planning and Writing
Technical Content"
http://www.scriptorium.com/books/

Read that, and then look at relevant job ads, then use it as inspiration
for rewriting your CV. Think of problems the employers would want to solve
- then write how you can use your specialist knowledge in psychology and
networking to solve them.

When you've done that, try to get some experience. Create your own samples
on your own time, or find an internship. Most employers don't know of
certifications in our area anyway, so hands-on experience will be much
better for you in terms of getting the job you want.

/Charlotte
