Hello, WR-L-ers,

Iâm a very long-time user of Snagit on Windows, but with my recent (in-progress) migration to the Mac world, am now using the latest Snagit for Mac (4.1.2). There seems to be no way to control the capture resolution. My saved-as-PNG captures are blurry when I import them into pretty much any app (PowerPoint, Word, Google Slides, Google Docs) unless I increase the dimensions considerably. This might be because Iâve got such a high-res monitor (2560x1600), but it wasnât an issue with Snagit for Windows.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the PNGs to be crisp even when sized smaller than their actual size on screen?

With Windows, I always captured at 300 dpi. Yes, everything I read said that there was no such thing as a real âcapture resolutionâ, but nevertheless, I got much better (crisp, not blurry at all, regardless of how I resized the image) results when I used 300 dpi in my captures.

Not necessarily relevant, but I mention it here in case anyone has a more streamlined way to get good crisp callouts that remain at their intended font size regardless of whether the captured image is resized. What I do is take a screen capture, upload the PNG into a Google Slide where I add captions (in my Windows world, I used Visio for this), download the Google Slide as PNG to my local system, use Snagit to trim the PNG (to get rid of all the slideâs whitespace), and finally insert that PNG into my Google Doc.

Thanks for any tips & tricks,
-Monique
