That sounds good. You still need to review current job descriptions that your friend would consider and make sure you have the popular technology, skills, and methodologies that the employers want clearly stated with the relevant experience. Your use of "playful format" sounds intriguing. I tried out this format, http://time.com/money/4621066/free-resume-word-template-2017/, and people wanted the chronological format with clear mentions of where and how I used the requirements in the job description. The Money 2017 resume looks amazing but it doesn't get leads.

Your "master resume" could go back to a childhood paper route if you have the time and energy for that. I have a lengthy resume that I use as fodder for preparing talking points and for remembering where I began. A long resume "with everything" is also a good source for a LinkedIn resume or for something to shove in a searchable database.
