If you need to swap between Letter and A4 paper sizes, consider setting up a
template for each with margins set such that the actual printable area is
the same no matter which paper size is used. Then you won't need to resize
tables and figures when swapping between paper sizes (unless you need to due
to translation requirements). So for Letter, which is wider than A4, the
left and right margins will be greater than you have for A4. For A4, which
is taller than Letter, the top and bottom margins will be greater than you
have for Letter.
