I have seen onboarding tasks.

Onboarding
- Task 1: Setup Profile
- Task 2: Complete payroll information
- Task 3: Complete Sexual Harassment Orientation (that ain't the right word.)

At the invention of the onboarding wheel back in the 1970's onboarding was introduced as a theory organizational socialization.
https://dspace.mit.edu/bitstream/handle/1721.1/1934/?sequence=1 <https://dspace.mit.edu/bitstream/handle/1721.1/1934/?sequence=1>

In the theory, organizational socialization is divided by "segments and boundaries." Segments are "domains." People in the domains are "members" who sometimes have roles. Roles are "seen to possess ... a content or knowledge base."

The word "tactics" is used. "The phrase, "tactics of organizational socialization" refers to the ways in which the experiences of an individual in transition from one role to another are structured for him by others in the organization."

More theories and models for onboarding are cited on Wikipedia but many borrow from the Van Maanen and Schein model introduced in 1979.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onboarding

I prefer to use terms consistent with the core model being employed, rather than find a new buzzword or risk being colloquial.

If your onboarding is internal and perhaps role-based, then looking to a role-based organizational socialization model will likely lead you to the most copacetic term.

Hi, everyone. I appreciate all the suggestions. However, I'm not keen on
any of them...sorry.

First, this isn't a "New Employee" thing as they could be coming from a
different department...some of the items are specific to IT and some even a
subset of that, specific to NOC.
Second, terms like 'Administrivia are too "fancy"..to some people , English
is a stretch

I have the section being called "Onboarding". Now I need the name for the
individual items that comprise of the total concept of onboarding. Sorry, I
know that I'm being pedantic.

Thanks

What's wrong with "Onboarding"?

Or maybe New Employee Checklist.

Happy new year, guys...

I'm looking for the perfect term..

When somebody is Onboarded into a department, they need to perform a
number
of setups...modify email signature, setup access to ADP, be familiar with
things such as Outlook web access, badge rules, self service password
site,
Citrix desktop access.

What is a catch-all term where if all these things were listed, what would
be the heading of the list?

Thanks
