"Tap" would be applicable to any UI with a touch interface.

My first inclination would be to say it's the equivalent of "click" on a mouse UI, but I wonder if we have come anywhere near an environment where the mouse has become the equivalent of analog clocks or vinyl records, i.e., a mysterious device from the distant past that some users have only heard their parents and grandparents talk about.
