What off-site work comes down to (re productivity and expense) is whether
the established goals are being met with reasonable hours expended.

I just finished a project as a contractor where 80% was off-site, and the
client had nothing to object to since I met the agreed upon goals and
did it with a minimum of hours (mucho less than the on-site employees).

If they are not going to trust you working off-site, then what they want
is not a professional but a slave.
