* ASST/ASSOC PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH (TENURE-TRACK) AND
DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL COMMUNICATION PROGRAM

Tenure-track position to teach in and direct a nationally recognized
Technical Communication program in a Humanities Department. Rank at the
assistant/associate professor level; to be considered for the associate
level, the candidate must currently possess that rank. The position is
available Fall, 1994. Teaching will consist of advanced courses in
Technical Communication (TC), College English, and Technical Writing.
Responsibilities include directing the TC Program; teaching 6 or 9 hours
each semester and advising students; supervising a student-staffed TC
Program Computer Center and Multimedia Lab; publishing in the field of
TC. Ph.D. required in English, Rhetoric, or Technical Communication.
Teaching experience at the college level and knowledge of technical
and/or composition writing programs required; publications desirable;
and ability to teach Instructional Writing and Online Information Design
preferred. Send letter of application and dossier, including transcripts
and three letters of recommendation, with a brief description of
research interests postmarked by April 29, 1994.
