We recommend KB and Kb, per one of the earlier comments. If there is any
confusion, or possibility of confusion, well, that's what glossaries
are for. Also, in the first use in any given document, good practice is to
define the acronym (and KB is a sort of acronym) where it is first used,
and then use the acronym ever after.
