OFFICE MEMO Spelling - thanks Date: 7/19/94
Thanks for the responses on spelling <scalable> or <scaleable>
The end of the story is - THEY decided to pull the slide out of the
presentation for reasons other than spelling! It was probably a good idea,
especially since the word <scalable> was right over the word <manageable>. Can
you imagine the puzzled looks on the faces of men in white shirts, pin-striped
suits, and reddish geometric ties, trying to figure out if either word is
correct?
1 -Some tech spellers responded with the suggestion to use <scaleable> for
easy recognition
2 -The purists went with citations that pointed to <scalable>
3 -Some tech spellers suggested that I recast the sentence
I learned two good lessons here -
I need a really good dictionary and
I got alot of good advice from the group.
