See you soon, I'm setting to DIGEST, and getting in a canoe on the French
River (in Ontario, actually--not Quebec).
To any one who wants to know: yes, my dog will be going with me, but she will
be ROPED to the canoe and will have a large bell around her neck. She's an
old, stubborn, deaf dog who gave us a 24 hour scare at the beach last weekend,
and despite her bad habits, we still love her dearly. (Apologies to those
non-animal lovers who may find this sentimentality offensive or inappropriate--
"get-thee-to-the-dog-lover's-list!"--
Sorry, already in holiday-making mode (and have been for a few days, I guess,
if the tone of my postings is any indication).
I will return, sober and serious, in a few weeks, and we can discuss the
