I am on a committee to recommend a good style manual for our technical
writers. Someone has shown me "Science and Technical Writing - A
Manual of Style" by Philip Rubens, New York: Henry Holt, 1992.
Has anyone on the net actually used this book and can comment on its
usefulness?
I'd appreciate any comments you can give me regarding this book.

Apparently, only two of you out there knew anything about this book.
Therefore, I'd like to amend my request.
Have any of you found a style guide that you think is worth our taking
a look at? At present, we are looking very carefully at the Gregg
Reference Manual. However, noone is absolutely in love with it; it
just seems to have the fewest enemies on the committee. Chicago is out
because, well, you know why. We needed something that was more
friendly to our circumstances as technical communicators. Gregg is a
little too general for some of us, but we may end up with it if we
can't come up with something better. Please help if you can. Thanks!
