Who doesn't make cold calls? You mean you never sent a resume to company you
_really_ wanted to work for even if they hadn't posted a job opening? Or
approached a contract broker who wasn't actively recruiting?

And, since there have been threads discussing other aspects of the technical
writing business, it seems unfair to flame someone for starting a similar
thread.

Personally, I find the subject of the survey fascinating. I think other
freelance technical writers would also like to see a summary of the results.
