As my father, Jim Hartzer, has always said to me (he's been in the television
production business for 37+ years):
"It's not what's behind the camera, but what's in front of it. You can always
learn to run a camera. Besides, how are you supposed to direct a television
show about an orchestra if you can't tell an oboe from a cello?"
