Here's a suggestion for techwr-l that I've seen in the WRITERS listserv.
Use a code in the subject line to identify the posting. Of course,
the administrator or someone would need to standardize these codes or
they'd be too individual to be meaningful. This allows the recipient to scan
the subject lines and make a quick decision as to read or delete.
Saves a lot of time.

For example, use ED for editing/grammar issues, OH for online help, MM for
multi-media issues, MISC for the mom-type threads, etc.
