Given this explanation, why not stick with these relatively standard terms?
If you need to be more specific, use phrases:

Apply the changes to the database.

Update the window from the database.

The source of confusion seems to be that the window and the database can
change independently, and there are two ways to resynchronize them: change
the window or change the database.

If you are absolutely committed to changing "update" then take whatever word
you used for loading the window from the database in the first place and
prefix it with "re-". ...RM
