You asked what SGML is. SGML stands for Standard Generalized Markup Language.
It's a form of coding for documents that enables the content to be separate
from the format so that the documents can be translated from one format to
another; it expedites document interchange. It can also be used to form
document databases.

The Graphics Communications Association (GCA) presents SGML tutorials all over
the country. Their address is 100 Daingerfield Road, Alexandria, VA 22314-2888.
Phone: (703)519-8160; FAX: (703)548-2867.

There's an SGML list on the net. SGML-L. Lori Lathrop sent information about
subscribing to it. The address is LISTSERV -at- DHDURZ1 -dot- BITNET or, if you can't send
directly to a bitnet address, LISTSERV%DHDURZ1 -dot- BITNET -at- CUNYVM -dot- CUNY -dot- EDU In the
body of your message, endter SUBSCRIBE SGML-L your name.

Hope this helps.
