Writing for Translation

Speakers and Topic

Three translators with different language specialties will address the
topic "Writing for Translation." The translators will discuss issues that
can make the translation process easier. They will present specific
examples of the types of things that create difficulty, as well as more
general information about the nature of the translation process. The
speakers are:

Hassan Mneimneh, Arabic Translator
Carlos Rivarola, Spanish Translator
Carl Kay, Japanese Translator

Take 128 to exit 27A, Totten Pond Road. Turn right
onto Third Street. Take first left off Third street
onto Fifth Avenue (just before the Westin Hotel).
There is a sign for "Prospect Hill." Follow Fifth
Avenue until it turns to the right. KRONOS is in the
fourth building on the left.

Everyone is welcome. There is no charge. However,
you MUST contact Ami Wright, the co-manager of the ISIG, to have your name
added to the attendence list. There will be a security guard at the
building entrance. If your name is not on the list, you will not be

ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL SIG: The International Special Interest Group is a
joint SIG between the Boston and Northern New England chapters of the
Society for Technical Communication. The STC is the world's fastest
growing nonprofit, professional and educational institution. Over 18,000
writers, editors, graphic designers, instructional designers, translators,
and other technical communication specialists have joined STC to further
the field of technical communication and to enhance their professional

The co-managers of the International SIG are Ami Wright of
