Kids, don't try this at home (or even away from home). The high one gets is
called erotic asphyxiation. It seems that if one is choking oneself while in
the process of masturbating the thrill (?) is increased substantially. (Wrap
your head in the towels hanging down from the rollers and lay back to cut off
your oxygen supply while in the process doing other things.) Unfortunately,
in the ecstasy of the moment people sometimes accidentally hang themselves.

I don't know the above from personal experience and had no knowledge of it
until a friend was talking about a discussion of this she had watched on one
of those tabloid talk shows.

However, I do remember when I was in high school some kids would do something
similar (again I never participated). You took three very deep breaths always
exhaling them completely. Then a friend standing behind you would embrace you
and squeeze real hard as you fell back against that person. Apparently this
produced some sort of rush, and frequently loss of consciousness. There was
even an announcement over the PA system during morning announcements that
this practice must stop.
