Hmm... Then there was the day I got the call from the school guidance
counselor telling me to "teach my daughter how to speak like a regular
kid."

I replied, "Huh?" (I was stunned, which accounts for the paucity of words.
Ask Richard. Usually I talk a lot.)

HE (the counselor) replied, "She talks like a miniature adult. You gotta
teach her to talk like a kid."

I replied (again), "Huh?"

HE replied, "You know, like, teach her to like..."

I thanked him politely (sort of) and switched her to a school where
EVERYBODY talks in the manner of Lt. Cmdr. Data.
