David;

Well, I don't know WP, but you CAN rotate text in Word, using the WordArt
1.0 applet in Word 6.0, as well as apply a number of other special effects.
That said, I still wouldn't trust long docs to Word. It just doesn't have
the reliability, speed or the degree of choice in adjusting headers, footers
and graphics compatibility of a real DTP package. We use Corel Ventura 5.0,
which perhaps isn't up there with Frame and Interleaf, but it's an enormous
leap over Word. It also has no problem with incorporating sophisticated
graphics from CorelDRAW or other graphics apps.

BTW, when would you need to rotate text? Writing marketing brochures and
promo pieces, or is there another context I'm missing?

One major setback from WP to Word - You cannot rotate text in Word like you
can in WP.
