What do you call the storage media you put into your PC?

There is a hard disk inside the case.
There is a 5 1/4" floppy disk or diskette. Which term do you use?

Do you call the 3 1/4" removable thing a floppy disk?
" " " " floppy diskette?
" " " " hard disk or diskette?
" " " " other?

How do you distinguish between them?
