Subject:Re: VIRUS ALERT: its authentic From:"Pickett-Harner, Molly" <mop1 -at- NIORDS1 -dot- EM -dot- CDC -dot- GOV> Date:Fri, 8 Sep 1995 10:50:00 EST
My lan administrator says this alert is <not> bogus, & is "well recognized
among the cognoscenti."
(Remember -- the [only significant] difference between a trojan horse and a
virus is that the former invades & does whatever it's programmed to do
whilst a virus does the same over & over.)
Since this is a technical communication forum, I feel compelled to point
out that this is most definitely *not* a virus. I have no confirmation of
the veracity of the report, but if it describes the program's behavior
accurately it is a trojan horse, *not* a virus.
