Copyright is too often ignored. The best way to stay out of trouble is to take
a very conservative approach to any copyright issue. If you even suspect that
you might need permission to use something then take the time and ask. In
regards to Tim's (Tim Lewis) problem. I think you've done your part by warning
him. If you are really concerned about a copyright violation you can warn him
again (probably won't do any good), ignore the problem, or alert the comic
strip's publisher. If your newsletter friend is innocent then they will tell
you. If he isn't they will tell him.
