Full-time Technical Editor with experience of developing WinHelp
needed by leading process engineering software company in
Cambridge, UK.

Usual benefits, trips to headquarters in Boston, US: a great opportunity
for someone who wants to be part of a growing international
documentation team. At the moment, documentation in the UK office is
produced by several part-time writers and one editor. The person we are
looking for is adaptable, learns new software easily, and is happy to work
as part of a two-person editing team. You will need to be capable of
attaining a level of knowledge of our products that will enable you to
perform developmental edits (i.e., make organisational changes to
documentation, suggestions about structure, etc.), as well as performing
more traditional editing tasks.

Responsibilities:

* Edits, rewrites, and helps to organize technical documents,
including online help
* Follows in-house documentation standards
* Works with engineers to check technical accuracy of documents
* Develops understanding of documents' purpose and audience
* Keeps knowledge of technical documentation practices
up-to-date

Requirements:

* Good general knowledge of technical editing practices
* Substantial experience developing online help for Windows
applications
* Willingness and ability to learn about highly complex topics
* Ability to work cooperatively with many people throughout the
company
* Interest in working to achieve high quality documentation

Preference given to applicants who also have:

* Word/Doc-To-Help experience
* Experience with/knowledge of WinHelp 4
* Any background in process engineering or chemical
engineering
