With all the traffic this morning on this list about these marvelous new
devices, I may not understand the "big deal."
Don't both the Imoega and SyQuest drives "zip" (compact/compress) the files
on their drives? If so, don't the files have to be "upzipped" (decompressed)
in order to use/manipluate the files?
BTW, PC Mag (for Nov. 7, 1995) reviews SyQuest's EZ135 drive ($200- $240)
and revisits Iomega's Zip drive (this look was more critical of the
unavailability to disks that the drive itself).
With the advent (maybe in the Spring) of the read-write CD-ROM, wouldn't it
be more adventageous for users to wait than to jup at some technology that's
going to require addition hard-drive space anyway?
