thanks for this -- very interesting.
We've been looking at using internal news groups to handle 'round table'
type discussion on topics for which e-mail isn't well suited. I wonder if
doco review could be done this way. Each reviewer would post their comments
to the group. Other reviewers post replies, amplifying or agreeing/
disagreeing with these comments.
This might be a useful short cut in organisations that don't already have
a suitable review culture, but do have a lot of net news junkies.
