petabyte = 10 to the 15th bytes
exabyte = 10 to the 18th bytes
NOTA BENE: a byte is eight bits, and a
kilobyte is 1024, and a megabyte is
1,048,576 bytes, so a 500-meg hard disk
is quite a bit more than just 500,000,000 bytes,
actually 500 times 1,048,576, or 5.24288e+014
as the Windoze Calculator dislays its half-vast
version of scientific notation...
