Does anyone know the most accepted way to reference WWW documents in
paper documentation. I have gotten some good input from tech writers
in my company, but wondered what other companies do (if anything).
Please advise.

What sort of paper documentation are you writing? I'm currently
writing a "white paper" and have encountered this same question.
I have not seen this topic addressed in any style manual, though
admittedly my style manual does NOT have a 1995 or 1996 print
date. My document follows a report style, and in lieu of better
information I have notes where appropriate and an endnotes page
that lists the WWW documents as their full WWW addresses.
