I'm doing research on technical writers and their value to software
products and product documentation by being included with the overall
development of software products. Can anyone offer any insight on this
issue?

Pros and Cons?

Is early involvement in projects a norm? Do you see it becoming a
trend?

Do you feel that writers will be more productive if they are included in
the development team at the early stages?

What are the restrictions placed on tech writers who are drawn into
projects very late?

I will be looking forward to any comments you may have about
this topic. I found several articles that discussed this issue but need
to get insight from someone familiar with this process.

Thank you

Cathie
