Hello everyone,
I have been sitting back reading your interesting discussions for
about two and a half weeks now. I joined this listserv for a class that I
am taking called Report and Proposal Writing at UMASS Dartmouth. I am a
third year writing major and am working on a project that will assess the
feasibility of offering an online noncredit certificate program in WWW
technoology.
The program would include approximately six courses about web
crafting, writing web documents, etc. Presently, UMASS offers 12 online
courses in a variety of academic areas. These full credit courses, called
CyberEd courses are taught by our professors to students all over the world.
(For an overview of our CyberEd courses go to http://www.umassd.edu)
Here's where you come in. I would like your personal and
professional opinions on whether you think such a certificate program would
have wide enough appeal? Would you be interested in taking any noncredit
courses? How about your friends, children, students, etc. I really need
your help and plan to quote choice responses in my report -- with full
attribution, of course!
Finally, if you do respond (and I truly hope you do) please be sure
to note your occupation or area of expertise. Thank you in advance,
Julie Conforti
