Margaret:
I'm not an agent, but I publish a newsletter
(launched on the Internet 9/1/95) called
WRITER & CLIENT which may interest you.
The purpose of my newsletter is to connect
business & technical writers with business
professionals interested in working one-on-one
with the writer of their choice anywhere in
the world.
For instance, one of our writers, Alan Heydon
of HEYDON CONSULTING in Greenwood, Western
Australia, advertises his services in my
newsletter (writer and client ads are free)
by telling prospective clients in places like
North America:
"I work while you sleep. Fax or email
me your assignment before you go to
bed, and I'll have the final copy on
your laptop in the morning".
-- Alan Heydon, sh -at- multiline -dot- com -dot- au
The price for a subscription to the email
edition of WRITER & CLIENT was formerly $12/yr.
As of the April 1 issue (just transmitted to
subscribers yesterday) a subscription to the
electronic edition is free.
How am I going to pay my bills giving it away?
I've contacted a couple of companies and expressed
what my needs are to make this project a success,
such as NATIONAL ADVERTISING IN LEADING BUSINESS
MAGAZINES, updated computer equipment (I'm currently
operating with a 286 computer and a shell account
from Primenet in Phoenix). I've asked them if they'd
be interested in underwriting this venture via sponsorship.
I'll be seeking additional corporate sponsorship in the
future and accepting donations from private individuals
who might be interested in this project.
Rather than take everybody's time up withmore about
my newsletter, why don't you just send for a sample
copy of the current issue to look over?
You might find it to be better than any agent could
ever be -- and a lot more economical from the client's
standpoint.
