Fellow communicators:
Just got back from the STC Region 3 Student Conference that was held in
Macon, GA Saturday. It was a terrific conference--especially when you
consider it was the first for this region. They had a full program
with four concurrent sessions and over 100 attendees from Florida,
Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Ohio (and I
am sure I have missed at least one other. The current STC 2nd VP was
the keynoter and 2nd VP candidated Binion Amerson and Larry Kunz were
program presenters.
For those who are not STC members, if you need a reason for joining,
this was it. Without STC there would be no conferences such as this
for the TCs of tomorrow.
Nor would there be an Annual Conference (about 50% of attendees are
non-members).
Nor would there be regional conferences such as PCOC, Currents, and the
Florida Writers Conference in Region 3. Other regions have their fair
share also.
