This gets discussed periodically on the INDEX-L list. I can't access my
email archive disk at the moment (still no luck getting the cat fur out of
the Syquest cartridge). Perhaps one of the other folks who lurk on both
lists can forward the FAQ, or a summary of the last <indexing on a Mac>
discussion.
