Sometimes a good photo can be better than an illustration.
The Singer Reference Library books cover various sewing
topics, and are full of excellent photographs. The Tailoring
book is heaps easier to comprehend than any other I have
read; so often I look at a diagram and think - "ok, but what
does it _really_ look like?". At least if there's a photo, you
know that _someone_ actually managed to do whatever the
text describes!
