Ben Shneiderman's _Designing the User Interface_ from Addison Wesley
(ISBN for Second Edition (1992) is 0-201-57286-9) is excellent. It
covers a wide range of topics including theoretical groundwork,
applications of the theory (both text-based and graphic-based), and testing
methods used in interface design work. It is also easy to read.
