I view human factors engineering as a potential next career. Right
now, there can be a large mix between HF and TW work, due to the need
for user profiling and usability testing. I find that I am often
usability testing the whole product when I really wanted to test my
manual. It's pretty interesting stuff, too.

Also, the HF field seems to be in infancy. Most programs I have seen
are graduate programs. As general knowledge increases, the study level
of the program will go down. (This happened with engineering -
calculus was once a master's/doctoral topic only. Now people study it
regularly in high school.)

Seems like a great opportunity!
