Position: Technical Writer
Location: Milpitas, CA
Type: FT Permanent
A leading supplier of client/server network solutions is seeking a technical
writer to plan, organize, write and edit user / beta manuals (primary), and
fact sheets / white papers (secondary). As part of the product marketing
team, this individual will learn the company products and the manner in which
they are installed, used and supported. Interaction with several groups
including Engineering, Marketing, Technical Support and System Engineering is
required to create and organize user documentation.
Additional key responsibilities include: defining and implementing a common
look to all end user documentation, both new and existing; and project
management of additional documentation projects, some of which may be
outsourced..
Required Qualifications
*Excellent knowledge of Framemaker, Adobe Illustrator
*3-5 years of technical writing experience in a computer / systems
environment
*Demonstrated knowledge of the entire documentation process
*Demonstrated experience interfacing with various departments to obtain
required information
Desired Qualifications
*Experience developing networking industry documentation, particularly
FTDI, ATM and Fast Ethernet
*Proficiency with Word, Corel Draw
*Graphics experience a plus
*Bachelors degree, Masters a plus
Salary: 45-50K / yr plus stock options, stock purchase plan, medical, 401k,
some dental and more.
