Macintoshes and TWs

Actually, more of us prefer Macintoshes than other systems.

I took a survey earlier this year, in May or June I think it was, and I
asked what platforms people used, what they _prefered_ to use, and what they
used them for (more writing or graphic design or mix or what).

One of the interesting things I found was that more people preferred
Macintoshes than were using them in the work setting. A lot of respondants
said they used Windows at work because they have to but Macintosh at home
because they want to.
Another interesting thing is that only half of the people using Windows95
preferred it. I found that odd because W95 was supposed to be so hot to
trot, but the preference rating was very low compared to the other operating
systems.

Since more technical writers prefer Macintosh, according to those who
responded to my survery, I can see some justification for including some
information about a mailing list about them.

What I don't see is why a big super-huge bloated post had to be
made--just a simple address to write to would have been enough. Maybe a
sentence or two describing it, but not the monolith that was posted. That
was too much.

Would you like to see the complete results of the survey? It's available at
my personal web page. Go there and click on "survey," the link is at the
bottom of that section. :)
