Subject:Value of paper docs? From:Michael Krigsman <mkrigsman -at- CPUB -dot- COM> Date:Tue, 1 Oct 1996 18:03:29 -0400
I am currently trying to research consumer perceptions of the value of
printed documentation. I am basically trying to determine how much value
such documentation contributes to a given software package. In other words,
how much more is a given consumer willing to pay for software that includes
the printed manuals? I know that Microsoft does not distribute their
manuals by default, but does sell them through its publishing arm for a good
amount of money for those who feel the need for a book to help them out.
Does anyone know where I might find research of this type?
Ideally, this research would be research performed by an independent
academic rather than a software company.
Please e-mail me directly so as not to bother the regular listers.
THANKS!!
