Yes. You probably have a much greater need for more memory than for
more CPU power, though. More disk space, too. And the newer
applications are a lot easier to use if you have a big monitor.

Upgrading software is like the old joke: "Poison: $1. Antidote: $1000."

Major software upgrades call for major hardware upgrades. But
by the time you get up to a Pentium-class system with 32 MB of
RAM, 2 GB of disk space, and 21" monitors, you'll be safe for
a couple of years.
