I create and/or compile anywhere from 500 to 1000 pages of document per week.
Considering I'm still getting input on the date it is to ship to the customer,
having an error-free document is only a dream. However, whenever anyone spots
a typo on a document, I tell them that it is the Persion Rug error.

It seems that the Persion rug weavers would always intentionaly make one error
by dropping a stich...they didn't want to insult Allah, who is perfect.

Here's another thought--anybody can have two or three typos sneak in,
but if a document is peppered with them, thats when it becomes a
reflection on how well they do their job. At least the editing part of
the job--I once worked with a great writer who couldn't edit or spell
worth a damn. So he spent his working hours on what he did best and
left the editing and proofing to another team member who was good at it.
