We are trying to convert Ventura publications to PDF format
( for Adobe Acrobat viewing).

The Ventura manual indicates that Headings and TOCs are
identified and appropriate links are created during conversion.

Unfortunately, the links created by this process do not point to
the correct pages.

Specifically:
------------------
One PDF file contains multiple chapters (ideally an entire book).
The page numbers are composed of the chap number and the
page number in that chapter (e.g., 4-18).

The bookmarks created automatically in the PDF file point the
page number of the PDF file (not page on which the actual
topic appeared)

Examples:
A TOC entry that pointing to page 3-10 is linked to the 10th page
of the PDF file (which may very well indicate some part of the front
matter of the book).

This also means that links to page 2-10, 3-10, and 4-10 etc. are all
linked
to the same page in the PDF file.

Since page numbering in most books does not start from the
cover page/toc/front matter, and many books include chapter-specific
numeration, I assume that there must be another way to do this.

Any suggestions?
