True, technical communicator would be more appropriate, but according to
the agencies that handle contract jobs for people such as ourselves in
Australia, their computer system does not search for technical
communicators, but for technical writers. Headhunters here have not picked
up on the term yet. That means sending in a CV describing yourself as a
technical communicator is a sure opportunity to practice your writing
skills filling out dole application forms...just a thought.
