Beth: obviously there would have to be compromises and
negotiations on both organizations to make it work. I think
the IABC has a lot to offer us and vice versa. It's the
numbers and the added value that make it worth trying. --

Penny and Sarah,
I just went to the IABC Web site and checked out their Gold
Quill contest info. It said that entries "must be focused on
organizational communication." This tells a lot about the
IABC's focus. We like to enter our books in contests -- but
I don't see how I can fit a technical manual into that
category. Do you?

I would like to propose a merger between the Association of
Business Communicators and STC. Total numbers would add up
to 31,000 members worldwide. Those who rule the
