Why not? I have both Word and PageMaker 6.0, and while it is true that I
haven't had to do any large manuals with it, it isn't obvious to me why
I couldn't.
In my previous job, I used the Unix version of Interleaf to do multi-volume
manuals (200-300 pages each). Frankly, nothing in my experience with
PageMaker (I've used it for about a year now) suggests that it can't
do most of what I used to do with Interleaf (I've never used Frame).
BTW, PageMaker does import Word documents well. I've also had pretty good
luck exporting to Word.
