TITLE: Technical Writer
COMPANY: SOFTBANK Net Solutions
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The person filling this position will be joining a rapidly growing
software engineering organization. He or she will be responsible for
planning, writing, and maintaining documentation, both hardcopy and
online, for SOFTBANK Net Solutions products. He or she will work
directly with engineers in a dynamic software development environment.
His or her duties will include the following:
- Participate in planning, organizing, and scheduling projects.
- Write, update, edit, and format product documentation.
- Coordinate documentation reviews.
- Participate in production process.
- Assist in planning and developing online documentation.
LOCATION:
- Morrisville, North Carolina (Research Triangle Park area)
- Occasional travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The skills of an "ideal" candidate for this position are as follows:
- 5+ years technical writing experience
- 5+ years working directly with engineers to document software
products, including drafting requirements and functional specs in
concert with engineers
- Experience in all phases of documentation process
- Experience using MS Word and other document software such as Adobe
Acrobat
- Experience with HTML
- Knowledge of object oriented concepts, Smalltalk and C++
You do not have to program in Smalltalk or C++, but an understanding
of object oriented development concepts is needed.
