My favored practice is to use italics only for titles and emphasis.
I like to use bold face for window names, menu names & options, and names of
buttons, boxes, etc. Sometimes you can actually perform a procedure without
reading it by following the bold faced terms, and our audience typically
doesn't want to read anyway.
